Incredible pictures of the Turkish ship that ran aground near Bloubergstrand taken by Clinton Geyser

Twenty five crew members of a Turkish ship that ran aground near
Bloubergstrand have been airlifted to safety.

The vessel, carrying coal, was unable to contend with rough weather on
Monday night, causing it to run aground.

The National Sea Rescue Institute’s Craig Lambinon said it was a tough
rescue operation, adding all crew members were safe.

“Only one crew member was treated for slight, mild hypothermia.”
